Diamond Salon

Diamond Salon is found on Raghunathpur Road, Kolkata - 700059. We are quite close to the Rajarhat Gopalpur Municipality office. Because of the office nearby, we get a lot of people who work for the local government coming in during their lunch breaks or right after they finish for the day. The shop itself is just a basic room with the necessary equipment to give a good haircut or a clean shave. The name Diamond makes it sound a bit more grand than it is, but it’s just a name my father liked. We have a couple of ceiling fans that work hard to keep the air moving, though it still gets warm when the shop is full of people. I’ve been cutting hair since I was a young man and I don't know any other way to spend my days. The floor is made of old tiles and there is a small sink in the corner where we wash up. We don't use any high-tech gadgets, just our hands and the tools we've used for years. Raghunathpur Road is always a bit dusty with all the construction and traffic, so I have to wipe down the chairs pretty often. People around here are friendly and they usually stay for a chat even after we are done with their hair. It’s a nice place to work and we feel like we are a real part of the Rajarhat Gopalpur neighborhood life.
