Our office is tucked away in Room No. 63 on one of the floors at 40 Strand Road. If you know this part of the city, you know how crowded and loud it gets with all the trucks and people moving about. The building itself has been around for a long time and the stairs can be a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up again, which happens more often than we would like. We handle a lot of paperwork here because of the export business, so there are always stacks of files on every flat surface. Most of our day is spent on the phone or typing away at the old computers we have. It is not a quiet place to work, but we find our rhythm in the middle of all the shouting from the street below and the fans humming overhead. There are about six of us in this room, so it gets a bit tight when we have a lot of samples coming in or going out. We usually eat lunch together at our desks, sharing whatever we brought from home. It is a lot of work making sure everything gets to where it is supposed to go across the world, but we just take it one day at a time. Strand Road has a way of making you feel the energy of trade.
