Crafts & Prints

You can find Crafts & Prints over at 20/1B, Nivedita Lane in the Bagbazar area. It is a narrow street and the shop is tucked away a little bit. We do a mix of things here, mostly involving paper and old-style printing. The space is usually filled with the rhythmic sound of the press and the smell of various inks and materials. We have lived and worked in this neighborhood for a long time, so we know most of the people living on the lane. It is a bit cramped inside because we try to keep a lot of different types of paper on hand for different jobs. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to sit and wait for it to come back, which is just part of life in this city. We do not have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the machines properly. People stop by with all sorts of small printing jobs. Some want a few pages copied, while others are looking for something a bit more decorative for an event. We just take the work as it comes in. The walls are lined with old samples from years ago that we never bothered to take down or change. It is not a fancy showroom, just a working shop where we get things done. If you walk down the lane, you will hear us before you see us. It is a busy life but we like being here.
