Vignesh Boutique

Vignesh Boutique is situated at No. 5- A right near the Alipore Chetla Crossing. It’s a small place, tucked away where the traffic from the crossing is always loud. Inside, the shop is full of colors and different textures of cloth. We have rolls of silk, cotton, and synthetic fabrics stacked up against the walls. Our workspace is dominated by a large table where we do all the cutting and measuring. There are usually a couple of sewing machines running, which makes a steady humming sound all day. We don't have any fancy marketing or big ads. People mostly hear about us from their friends or family. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have more than two or three customers in at once. We have a small corner with a mirror for people to see how things look. It’s not a polished showroom. You might see thread on the floor or scraps of fabric in the corner. We focus on the stitching and making sure the clothes fit the way they should. The crossing outside is a landmark that everyone knows, so it’s easy to tell people where we are. We’ve been here for a long time, and we like the feeling of being a local shop. It’s just a few of us working with our hands every day. We don't overcomplicate things, we just try to make decent clothes.
