We have our small office set up at 25 East Kamalapur, right in the Dumdum area. It is a pretty straightforward place to find once you are in the neighborhood. We have been here for a while now, working on wealth management and things like that. It is not a huge operation with hundreds of people. Instead, it is just a handful of us sitting in a room with our laptops and a lot of ledgers. The street outside can get quite busy with people heading to the station, but inside it is mostly just the sound of typing and the ceiling fan. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist in a suit. If you walk in, you will probably just see one of us at a desk covered in papers. We do our own filing and make our own tea most of the time. The building is an older one, so it has some character, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint eventually. We like being in Dumdum because it feels like home. Most of us don't have to travel very far to get to work. We just focus on the numbers and try to make sense of the markets for the people who ask us to. It is steady work and we try to be as practical as possible. No one here is trying to be a big shot. We just do the job and go home to our families at the end of the day.
