Calcutta Art Salon

Calcutta Art Salon is located over in Baguihati Chalpattu, right on the main Baguihati Road. It is a busy area with lots of shops and people moving around all the time. Our shop is just one of the many small businesses that make up this neighborhood. We spend our days here cutting hair and giving shaves to the locals who live nearby. It is a practical place. We have got the standard chairs and the usual tools spread out on the counters. Nothing is too new or polished, but everything works just fine. You can hear the buses and rickshaws going past the door constantly. Some days are busier than others, especially when the weather is nice or there is a festival coming up. We don't really do anything special, just the basic stuff people need to look tidy. A lot of our customers have been coming here since they were kids, and now they bring their own children. It makes the day go by faster when you have people to talk to while you work. We keep the mirrors clean and the floor swept as much as we can between customers. It is just a regular job for us. We open the doors in the morning, wait for the first person to walk in, and keep going until the sun goes down. It is a steady rhythm that we have gotten used to over the years here in Baguihati.
