Bobs Salon & Academy

Bobs Salon & Academy is tucked away at 21 B Mohan Bagan Lane. It’s a very specific part of North Kolkata, right in the heart of Shyambazar. If you find the Shyambazar Post Office, we are just across the street from it. We are also right beside the Darpana Cinema. The lane is typical for this area—a bit narrow and full of character. The pin code is 700004. Inside, the shop has two parts because we also have the academy side of things. It’s mostly just chairs, mirrors, and some practice heads for the students. The walls have some old photos on them from over the years. We have been in this spot for a while, and the building has that old Kolkata feel. The post office workers come by sometimes just to say hello or drop off a letter. It gets very busy around here in the evenings when everyone is out. We try to keep the place organized, but with students around, there’s always something being moved or a comb misplaced. The Mohan Bagan Lane area is quiet compared to the main Shyambazar five-point crossing. We have a small desk where we keep our notebooks. The air is often filled with the smell of tea from the nearby stalls. It’s a hardworking environment where people come to learn or get a trim. We keep it simple and focus on the daily routine.
