Blue Star (Ladis Beauty Parlour)

Blue Star is a small ladies beauty parlour tucked away in Rabindra Pally. We are located at Ac-130/131, which is near the Baisakhi Kheya Ghat and the Kali Mandir. It’s a quiet part of Kolkata, and most people around here know me. I’ve been doing this for a long time, mostly just helping the women in the neighborhood look nice for festivals and family gatherings. The parlour is quite simple. I have a couple of chairs, a mirror, and my tools. I do things like threading, basic facials, and hair styling. Since we are near the temple, we get a lot of people stopping by before they go to a function. It’s a very local vibe here. People often just drop in to see if I’m free. I don’t have a website or anything like that; I just rely on people telling their friends about the shop. It’s honest work and I enjoy the company of my customers. Sometimes the shop feels a bit small when three or four people are waiting, but everyone is patient and we talk about the neighborhood. We don't use any fancy machines, just traditional ways of doing things that have worked for years. If you're walking down towards the ghat, you'll see our little sign. It’s just me and maybe one other person helping out on busy days. It’s been my life for years and I like it that way. I've seen the area change a lot.
