Our office is tucked away on the 5th floor at 5 Fancy Lane. We share the space with P K Lilha and Co, so it’s a bit of a mixed house here. Being in the 700001 area means we are right in the thick of the Kolkata business district. It’s a narrow lane and sometimes it’s hard to find a spot for a bike, let alone a car. The lift in the building works most of the time, but we’ve had to walk the stairs more than once. We handle property matters, mostly helping people find rentals or dealing with the local deeds. It isn't a high-pressure environment. We usually just sit around the table and go over the maps and documents. The weather gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so the fans are always on full blast. Most of our clients are just regular people from the neighborhood or small business owners looking for a bit more space. We don’t do a lot of advertising. Usually, someone just hears about us from a friend and gives us a call or drops by the 5th floor. It’s a quiet way to run a business. We focus on getting the paperwork right and making sure the keys get to the right people. It’s just us doing our thing in this old part of the city. We’ve been here a while and know the local rhythms and how things work.
