We’ve been here at 26-A on Rifle Range Road for quite a long time now. The building is older than it looks from the outside, but it keeps the rain out mostly. It gets pretty loud during the day because of the traffic coming through this part of the city, but you get used to it after a while. Most of us have been working together for years, so we don't really need to talk much to know what needs doing. We handle a lot of the back-end stuff that keeps things moving along. There’s a small shop down the street where we usually go for lunch, and the owner there knows our orders by heart. The office is usually filled with stacks of files and the sound of the ceiling fan clicking. It isn't anything fancy, just a place where we get the work done. Sometimes the electricity acts up when it rains hard, but we manage. We aren’t a big operation with hundreds of people, just a handful of us trying to keep the paperwork straight. Every morning starts with someone making a fresh pot of tea and opening the windows to get some air in, even if the air is mostly dust from the road. It’s just how things are here. We don’t spend much time worrying about the decor or having the latest gadgets. As long as the phones work and the desks are standing, we’re alright.
