Bhai Bhai Saloon

Bhai Bhai Saloon sits on G L T Road in the Bonhoogly part of Kolkata. It is a small shop, the kind you see in every neighborhood where people know each other. We called it Bhai Bhai because it felt right for the area and the way we treat people. The walls are painted a simple color and we have the usual salon mirrors. It’s usually quite lively because people from the nearby houses come in not just for a shave or a haircut, but to chat about things. We have a couple of old chairs that have been with us since we opened. They might squeak a little when you sit down, but they are comfortable enough. The street outside is always busy with cycles and rickshaws going past. We keep a small television in the corner, usually tuned to the news or a cricket match if one is on. It’s not the quietest place, but it has a good energy. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the name above the door. Most of our customers have been coming here for years, sometimes bringing their kids along for their first haircut. We keep the scissors sharp and the combs in the blue liquid like you’re supposed to do. It’s an honest way to make a living. We open early so the office-goers can stop by, and we stay open until late.
