J. K. Dresses

If you walk down K. B. Basu Road in Barasat, you will eventually come across J. K. Dresses. We are located at 12/11, and it is a humble little shop that we have been running for quite some time now. Barasat is a busy area, and our street is no exception with all the rickshaws and people walking to the market. We mostly sell everyday clothes that people around here need for their families. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack the dresses and outfits quite high on the racks to fit everything in. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when more than three people are inside at once, but we make it work. I usually sit at the front counter near the door to catch whatever breeze comes through. We don't have any of those big air conditioners, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long. My family has lived in this area for generations, so we know most of the people who walk past our door. It is a nice feeling to see a familiar face and have a quick chat about the weather or the local news while they look at what we have in stock. We don't do much advertising; people just know we are here on the road. It’s just a regular life for us, opening up in the morning and folding clothes until it’s time to head home.
