We are based out of Flat 1A in Block A at 847 Madurdaha. It’s a quiet area in the 700099 part of Kolkata. Bagchi Sengupta Pal & Co is a small firm, and we’ve set up our office here to keep things manageable and close to the community. It’s basically a flat that we’ve turned into a workspace. It works well for us because it’s not as noisy as the main city roads. There are three main names on the door, but we all work together on whatever comes in. We spend most of our time looking over accounts, dealing with regulations, and making sure the companies we work with are on the right track. It’s a lot of sitting and thinking, and plenty of tea to keep us going. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website that looks like a movie. We just have our names and our reputation for doing the work. People in Madurdaha know where we are if they need to drop off some papers or ask a quick question. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed. There’s no pressure when you walk in. We just sit down at the table and talk about what needs to be done. It’s a practical way to run a consultancy, and it lets us focus on the details without getting distracted by corporate fluff. Most days, we are just surrounded by ledgers and notebooks. We like the quiet of Madurdaha as it helps us stay focused on the numbers and the rules we need to follow.
