B P Poddar Hospital

B P Poddar Hospital has been part of the Thakurpukur area for quite some time. We sit right at 5 1 3C Dhroad in Padmapukur, which is a busy corner of Kolkata 700063. It’s a big old building that has seen a lot of people come and go over the years. We aren't one of those shiny new medical centers you see in the magazines, but we keep the floors clean and the lights on. The staff here mostly lives locally, so many of us take the bus or walk to work. It gets very crowded in the mornings when the shifts change and patients start arriving for their appointments. The street noise from Dhroad is always there in the background, but inside we just focus on what needs to be done. We have different wards and sections, and everyone just tries to do their bit without making a lot of noise about it. It can be a bit chaotic on Mondays, which I guess is true for most places like this. We don't have a PR team or anything like that. We just have doctors, nurses, and cleaning staff trying to manage the daily load. It’s a lot of hard work and the days are long, but this is our neighborhood and we’ve been here long enough that people know where to find us when they need to. It is just a regular local hospital.
