Anumit'S Boutique

Anumit'S Boutique is located on the second floor of 175 W/2 Manicktala Main Road. We are in the Kankurgachhi area, which is a very active part of Kolkata. If you’re looking for us, we are near Ghosh Bagan. Being on the second floor means you have to walk up some stairs, but it’s a bit quieter than being right on the street level. We have windows that look out over the road so we can see the buses and rickshaws going by. Inside, the shop is full of different fabrics and finished clothes. We have a few sewing machines that make quite a bit of noise when they’re all running at once. We spend our time sketching out ideas or pinned to a mannequin. It’s not a polished showroom with fancy carpets. It’s a working boutique where there’s always something being made. The walls are covered in shelves and there are piles of cloth everywhere you look. We try to keep things organized by color, but that usually lasts about half a day. Kankurgachhi is a great place to be because there are always people around. We have some regulars who come in from the nearby buildings. We don’t use any big marketing tricks. We just sit here, do our work, and talk to whoever comes through the door. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot of work to finish. It’s just how things are at the shop, day after day, working through the garment orders.
