Angana Boutique

Located at 96, Dakshin Para Road. We are quite close to the Palki Marriage Hall, which means we see a lot of people passing by for events. Angana Boutique is where we spend most of our waking hours. The shop is filled with rolls of cloth and half-finished dresses hanging on hooks. There is always the sound of a sewing machine running in the background. We have a small table where we do the cutting and marking with chalk. It’s a bit cluttered, to be honest. Stacks of sarees and dress materials are piled up on the shelves. We do a lot of alterations for people who live nearby in Dakshin Para. Sometimes a bride-to-be comes in with her mother to get something fixed for a party at the hall down the road. We use a lot of pins and needles, and you have to be careful where you step. The lighting could be better, but we have a good lamp over the main work area. It is not a high-end fashion house; it is just a place where we stitch clothes and try to get the fit right. We have a small stool for customers to sit on while we take measurements. It’s a local business run by people who know how to handle a needle and thread. We often stay late during the festival season to finish all the orders.
