Amri Hospitals

Down here on Gariahat Road, things never really stop. We are situated at P-4&5, right in the Dhakuria area of Kolkata. If you know the Block-A Scheme-L11 spot, you know how hectic it gets. People are always walking by or catching buses right outside. Inside the hospital, it’s a whole different world, but still just as fast. We spend most of our time looking at schedules and making sure the floors are clean. It’s an old building in some parts, which gives it a certain feel, I guess. It isn't like those shiny new malls you see popping up. We have patients who have been coming to us for years, and their kids come now too. The lobby usually has someone waiting, looking at their phone or reading a newspaper. We don't have much time for small talk, but we try to be polite when someone asks for directions to a specific ward. The air conditioning is usually humming in the background, which is nice when it’s hot outside in Kolkata. Sometimes the elevators are slow, and you see people taking the stairs instead. It's just a regular place doing regular work. We deal with the usual stuff like broken equipment occasionally or running out of certain forms. It's just life at a hospital in a busy city like this one. There is always a bit of dust on the windows from the road, no matter how much we clean.
