Amri Hospital

We are situated near the Thakuria Bridge, not too far from Kalighat. It is a spot that many locals pass by every single day on their way to work. The bridge is a big landmark for us. If you get lost, you just look for that and you’ll find the hospital soon enough. The atmosphere here is pretty grounded. We have folks coming in from all over this part of town. The waiting areas can get quite full, especially in the mornings when the clinics are open. We try to keep a handle on the chaos, but a busy hospital is just a busy hospital. There is no way around it. The staff knows the local tea stalls nearby and we usually take turns grabbing snacks for the breakroom. It’s a community feel even though it’s a serious place of work. We don’t use a lot of big words or fancy talk. We just explain what’s going on to the families and get on with the treatments. The building itself has seen a lot of history. Some parts are newer than others, but it all functions together. We are just here to do a job for the people in the Kalighat area. Every day is a bit different depending on who walks through the door. We just take it one patient at a time and try to stay organized through the rush. It’s a steady pace most days.
