Amri Hospital

Being right on Barakhola Lane in Purba Jadavpur means we are in the middle of everything. This hospital has seen the neighborhood grow and change over the years. Most of the people working here have been around for a long time. We know the shortcuts through the building and which vending machine is actually reliable. It is a very practical sort of place. We have the beds, the doctors, and the nurses all doing their thing every hour of the day. People come to us when they aren't feeling well, and we do what we can to help them out. The lobby usually has a few families waiting and kids running around. It can feel a bit cramped when it's raining outside and everyone crowds into the entrance. We don't have any big corporate speeches. We just focus on the patients in the rooms and making sure the medicine gets delivered on time. Jadavpur is a lively area, and being right in the middle of it means there is never a dull moment. The staff eats lunch together when there is a rare break in the schedule. We talk about our own families and what’s happening on the news. It is just a normal life for us here. We keep the doors open and the floors swept, waiting for the next person who needs a hand. It’s just how we operate day to day for the community.
