Ambition Gents Saloon

You can find us over at H-54 on the B. P. Township Road in the Nayabad-Panchasayar area of Kolkata. We are pretty close to the Patuli Thana, so it’s a safe and familiar spot for everyone around here. Our saloon is a place for the local men to come and get sorted out. We have those heavy barber chairs that lean back all the way, and they are quite comfortable if you are getting a shave. The walls have some old posters on them and a clock that’s usually a few minutes fast. Kolkata summers are no joke, so we keep the fans going at full speed all day. It’s not a fancy air-conditioned lounge, just a regular shop where you can hear the snip-snip of scissors and the sound of the radio in the background. We know most of the people who walk through the door by name because they live just down the street. It’s a good place to catch up on what’s happening in the neighborhood while getting your hair cut. We don't do anything complicated, just standard cuts and shaves. Sometimes the floor gets a bit messy when we’re busy, but we clean it up when there’s a lull. It’s a humble business and we like being part of the community here in Nayabad.
