Akash Hair Cutting Gents Parlour

Our shop, Akash Hair Cutting Gents Parlour, is located near the Kaikhali More area, right by the V I P Agency on VIP Road. Being so close to the Kolkata Airport means we see a mix of local residents and people who are just passing through. It is a busy spot. You can always hear the traffic from the main road outside. We have a few chairs lined up against the wall. The shop isn't very big, so it can get a bit cramped when there are four or five people waiting. We have the usual mirrors and the combs and scissors sitting out. It’s an everyday kind of place. We don’t do anything fancy with the decor. It is mostly just white tiles and fluorescent lights. People stop in because it is convenient. Maybe they are on their way home from the airport or just living nearby in the housing blocks. We try to keep things moving so no one has to wait too long. The floor gets swept when we have a gap between customers. It’s just a normal gents' parlour where you can get a quick trim. We’ve been at this location for a while now, and we know the rhythms of the street. It is a straightforward business for the people around Kaikhali. We usually have a cricket match on the small television if one is playing that day.
