Agnitas Boutique

We set up Agnitas Boutique on the ground floor of No. 42-a Lake View Road. It’s a nice area, and being on the ground floor makes it easy for people to just wander in while they are out for a walk. We mostly focus on ladies' wear and custom pieces. The space is filled with rolls of fabric and half-finished dresses on mannequins. It’s often a bit messy with threads on the floor, but that’s how a working boutique looks. We spend a lot of time talking to customers about what they want for weddings or small functions. We don't have a huge staff, just a couple of us who know how to sew and cut patterns. The light is good in the afternoons because of the big windows facing the road. We’ve been here for a bit now, and we’ve gotten to know the ladies in the neighborhood. They stop by to see new patterns or just to talk about what's in style lately. We don’t use fancy software or anything to design. We just use chalk and measuring tape like it’s always been done. Sometimes a customer brings their own fabric and we just do the stitching for them. It’s a very personal type of business. We take pride in getting the fit right, even if it takes a few tries. It’s not a fast-paced factory; we take our time with each piece we handle.
