Adonis

Adonis is sitting right on T N Chatterjee Street in the Nawpara area. Most people find us easily because we are directly opposite the Ananya Cinema Hall. It’s a busy spot, especially when a new movie is playing and the crowds are out. Our address is number 15, and we’ve been here for a good while. Inside, it’s a bit more spacious than some of the other shops around here, but it’s still just a regular place for men to get their hair looked after. We have the usual black chairs and big mirrors. You’ll hear the radio playing most of the time, or maybe the TV if there is a cricket match on. The staff here are just local guys who know how to use a pair of scissors and a razor. We don’t go in for all those modern styles that you see on TV, unless someone really asks for it. Mostly it’s just short back and sides or a clean shave. Since we are near the cinema, we get people coming in to spruce up before their show starts. The floor can get a bit covered in hair when three or four people are getting cuts at once, but we try to tidy up when there's a gap. It’s just a straightforward shop in a busy part of Kolkata where you can get sorted out quickly.
