Acme Aluminium

Our place at 7, Nilmoni Halder Lane is a bit tucked away if you do not know the area well. We are right in Dharmatala, and most people find us by looking for the spot behind Jyoti Cinema. It is one of those old parts of the city where the lanes are quite narrow and everything feels a bit crowded. Acme Aluminium has been in this same spot for a good number of years. It is not a large showroom or a polished corporate office. It is mostly a workshop where we spend our hours working with aluminum sections and frames. The noise from the main road does not always reach us back here, which is a nice change of pace. Sometimes the delivery vans have a hard time getting through the lane, especially if a scooter is parked in a bad spot. We have lived through many hot summers here where the shop gets really stuffy, but you just turn on the fan and keep going with the work. Dharmatala is always on the move, and being near the cinema gives people a good landmark. We have a small staff of just a few people who know the material inside and out. There is a lot of cutting and measuring involved. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by the end of the day. It is just a regular local business trying to get things done right.
