Abhilasha

Abhilasha is found at 19, Rn Mukherjee Road, inside the Eastern Building. It’s one of those old buildings in the city that has seen a lot of history. Our office is on one of the upper floors, and the windows give us a view of the street below, which is always packed with cars and people. We’ve been here for many years now, and the place has a very lived-in feel. The wooden floors creak when you walk, and the walls are filled with shelves of old folders and books. We don't have a specific mission statement or anything like that. We just come in every day and handle the business tasks that need doing. It’s a small operation, usually just me and one other person. We spend a lot of time answering the phone and writing out notes. Rn Mukherjee Road is a busy area, so there’s always something happening outside. Sometimes we go down to the little canteen in the basement for a quick bite. We don't have a polished image or a big marketing plan. We just do our work and try to be helpful to anyone who walks through the door. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day. The light in the afternoons is quite nice as it hits the old desk. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s ours and we’ve made a home of this office.
