Down in Warananagar, things revolve around the sugar factory. Being a cooperative means there are a lot of people involved in what we do. Our place is in the Panhala Taluka area, specifically at the Vasundhra spot. When it is crushing season, the whole area smells like molasses and there is smoke coming from the stacks. It’s a lot of hard work. We have people coming in and out all day, mostly farmers bringing in their cane. The office part of the karkhana is always busy with guys checking the weights and making sure the payments are handled. It is not a quiet place to work. There is always the sound of machinery or trucks idling in the background. We have been a part of this community for a long time. It’s not just a business; it’s more like a hub for the whole village. We don't have a polished corporate look. The floors are dusty and the walls have seen better days, but the sugar gets made and the members get their share. Everything we do is about the daily grind of processing the harvest. It’s simple, it’s loud, and it’s been the same way for years. We just keep the gears turning and make sure the season goes as smoothly as it can despite the usual breakdowns.
