Aloragro Organic Private Limited

Over in Peth Vadagaon, specifically near the Jyotiba Mandir at House Number 192, you’ll find our little setup. Aloragro Organic Private Limited is run by people who actually live here in Kolhapur and care about what goes into the ground. We work out of Aakkatai Suresh Harale’s place. It’s a very local feel, and we like it that way. We decided to go the organic route because we saw what the other stuff was doing to the soil over the years. It’s a lot more work, honestly. You have to spend more time weeding by hand and making your own natural fertilizers, but we think it's worth the extra effort. We aren't fancy businessmen in suits; we are usually wearing our work clothes and covered in a bit of dust. The meetings we have are mostly about which natural methods are working and which ones aren't. Sometimes we argue about it, but that's just part of being a group. Kolhapur has a strong farming history, and we're just trying to do our part in a way that feels right to us. We sell what we grow to folks who care about how their food is raised. It isn't always a smooth process, and the paperwork can be a real pain, but when the harvest comes in and it looks healthy, we feel pretty good about the whole thing.
