Samir Castings Private Limited is located out at G-65 in the MIDC area of Gokul-Shirgaon. Being in an industrial zone means we have a bit more space than some of the shops in the city, but it also means it gets very hot and dusty out here. The foundry work we do involves a lot of heat, so the atmosphere inside the building is always a bit heavy. We have big furnaces and casting molds set up across the floor. Our shifts start early before the sun gets too high, though the heat from the metal stays with us all day. We don't have any plush carpets or fancy decorations in our office. It’s just a desk, some filing cabinets, and a lot of technical manuals. Most of our guys have been here for years and they know the sounds of the machines by heart. If something sounds slightly off, we notice it right away. The yard outside is usually full of raw materials and finished castings waiting to be moved. It’s a rugged environment and you have to be careful where you step. We don't spend time on social media or trying to look bigger than we are. We are just a group of people making metal parts in a busy industrial estate. When the day is over, we’re usually covered in soot and ready for a wash, but the work is steady and it pays the bills.
