In Kolhapur, specifically at 25 Kh E Ward in Tarabai Park, you can find Maisaheb Bavdekar School. It sits in a nice part of town, and we’ve become a familiar sight for the people living nearby. The school building is an older structure that has a lot of character, even if it needs a bit of paint here and there. We have several classrooms that stay occupied from morning until late afternoon. The teachers are usually busy preparing for their next hour, and you can see them carrying stacks of papers across the courtyard. It’s a practical environment. We don’t have a lot of high-tech gadgets in every corner, but we have what’s necessary for the kids to do their work. The mornings are usually the loudest time, with buses arriving and parents dropping off their children at the gate. During the rainy season, the trees around Tarabai Park get very green, which makes the walk to the school quite pleasant. We have a small office where we manage the admissions and the general upkeep of the place. It’s often a bit messy with files and old registers, but we know where everything is. The goal is just to keep the school running smoothly and making sure the students have a place to sit and learn. It’s a local school with local roots, and we’re quite content with that. Most of our staff are from Kolhapur themselves, so it feels very much like a neighborhood spot for everyone involved.
