If you’re driving through Sangli and find yourself on Shivaji Road in Meraj, that’s where we are. It’s a straightforward spot in the 416416 area. We don’t have much to brag about, just a roof over your head and a place to sit. Sangli isn’t as big as Pune or Mumbai, so things move a little slower here, which we like. The road outside can get a bit crowded when the local market is in full swing, but otherwise, it’s just the usual town noise. We have a few staff members who have been with us for years, they’re almost like family now. We spend our days mostly keeping the place tidy and talking to the people who stop in. Most people who stay with us are just passing through for a night or two. We don't have any of those modern self-check-in machines; you just talk to me or the guy at the desk. The building is painted a simple color and we try to keep the fans working since it gets humid. Sometimes the plumbing acts up, but we fix it as soon as we can. It’s a humble setup, nothing more and nothing less. We eat our lunch together in the back and wait for the evening rush. It’s not the kind of place you see in a magazine, but it works for the people in Sangli.
