Hotel Gandhar

You'll find us right near Shivaji Chowk in Kolhapur, specifically at 1807 C Ward on Bhaushingi Road. Being in this part of town means it's always busy outside. There's a lot of noise from the market and the people walking by. We’ve been at Hotel Gandhar for quite a few years. It’s an old building, so the walls have some marks and the stairs are a bit narrow. We don’t mind it much. Most of our guests are here for work or to visit the temple nearby. We handle the keys and make sure the rooms are swept. It’s not like those big hotels in the city center. We know the local shopkeepers and sometimes they come over for a chat. If you need something, you just have to ask. Sometimes the bell doesn't work right, so you might have to shout a little to get our attention at the desk. We try our best to keep it decent. The weather in Kolhapur gets hot, so we make sure the fans are always spinning. It's a simple life here. We don't have fancy uniforms or anything. I usually just wear my regular clothes while working. People like being close to the Chowk because everything is right there. Food, buses, and the general buzz of the city. We’re just a part of that daily rush. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a place to stay while you're in this part of Kolhapur. We've seen the city change a lot from our front door.
