Hiranyakeshi Ghatprabha Multi-Purpose Multistate

The Hiranyakeshi Ghatprabha Multi-Purpose Multistate Coop. Union Ltd. is located at RS No. 123/2 A in Hidaduggi Baugh. It is a bit of a trek to get out here, but it is a nice spot behind the church in the Kolhapur district. Being a cooperative union, our day-to-day life is very much tied to the local community and the farmers in the area. We have a plain office with simple wooden furniture and old fans that hum all day. It is not a fast-paced environment like you see in the big cities. People come in to discuss their agricultural needs or to handle paperwork related to the union. We spend a lot of time talking and listening to the members. There is a lot of greenery around the office, which makes it feel quite peaceful. We are not a profit-driven corporation; we are more like a group of neighbors working together. Our records are mostly kept in large physical ledgers, though we have a computer for some things now. The pace of work follows the seasons. When the harvest is near, things get a lot busier around here. We drink a lot of tea and settle matters through conversation. It is a traditional way of doing things, and it has worked for us for a long time. We are just local people managing a union that helps everyone in the Baugh get by.
