Comfort Fabrications

The Comfort Fabrications workshop is sitting right near the bus stand at Rani Post. If you’re waiting for a bus, you can probably hear us working throughout the day. It’s mostly the sound of metal being cut or the occasional hammering on the anvil. We do a lot of fabrication work here, like making window grills, gate frames, and various iron structures. The floor is concrete and usually has some metal scraps and sparks flying around from the welding. It’s a bit of a rough environment, but it’s where we do our work. We have a couple of welding machines that have seen better days but they still run fine for what we need. The smell of burnt metal and paint is pretty constant. We don’t have a showroom or any fancy displays. People just walk in with their measurements written on scraps of paper or a piece of cardboard. We talk about what they need, give them a price, and get to work on the order. Sometimes the rain blows in through the open front, so we have to move the equipment back a bit to keep it dry. It’s just a few of us here. We share a tea break every afternoon when the bus traffic slows down a little. We have been at this Rani Post location for a long time, and most of the locals know us by name. It’s not a flashy life, but we take pride in making things that stay strong.
