Our setup is at Pandurang Govind Patil’s house, number 221 in Konawade. We are the Bhudargad Agrotech And Milk Farmers Producer Company Limited. It’s a long name for a fairly simple operation. We mostly focus on two things: the crops and the milk. Around here in Bhudargad, everyone has a few cows or a field to look after. We spend our time going from house to house to check on the milk collection. It’s a lot of early mornings because the milk won’t wait for you to sleep in. We also handle the agrotech side of things, like getting the right fertilizers for the soil. Our office is just a room in the house where we keep the books and the milk testing kits. It’s not corporate at all. We sit around, have some tea, and talk about the cattle or the weather. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to do everything by candlelight, but we make it work. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or fancy marketing. We are just a bunch of people from Konawade trying to get a fair price for our products. It’s a lot of physical labor and sometimes the cows are stubborn, but it’s our life. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep the business steady so everyone gets by.
