Bhagwati Steel

We are situated in District Sindhudurg, right near the Post Office in Gavane. Bhagwati Steel is also very close to the local police station, so it is a very safe and quiet spot. This isn't like a city shop with bright lights. It’s more of a local supply point for the people living in this part of the district. We keep various kinds of steel that are used for building small houses or farm structures. The pace of life here in Gavane is a bit slower. We spend a lot of time talking to customers who come in. Many of them are our neighbors. We know whose son is getting married or who is adding a new room to their house. The shop itself is just a basic structure with a tin roof. When it rains, the sound is so loud we can hardly hear each other talk. We don't have a computer system to track everything. I just use a big notebook and a pen. It works fine for us. Sometimes we have to wait a few days for new stock to arrive from the city, but people here understand. We don't try to be something we are not. We are just a small business helping out the locals with their building needs. It’s a good life here in Sindhudurg. You get to see the greenery and breathe the fresh air while you work.
