If you head out to the MIDC area in Gokul Shirgaon, you’ll find us at D-12/2. It’s a typical industrial zone where the air always smells a bit like burnt metal and machine oil. Our shed is pretty large, which is good because we deal with a lot of metal stock and heavy machinery. The floor is concrete and usually has some metal shavings scattered around no matter how much we sweep. It’s loud in here when the presses are running, and you have to shout a bit to be heard over the din. We’ve been at this for quite a while now. Most of our day is spent making sure the dimensions are right and the metal is being cut or shaped the way it’s supposed to be. There isn't any fancy decor or air conditioning in the main work area, just some big fans that move the hot air around during the summer. We eat our lunch together in a small side room and talk about whatever is going on in the neighborhood. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We don't put out fancy brochures or use complicated language. People around Gokul Shirgaon know us as the place that gets the metal work done without any fuss. We just show up, do the work, and try to keep the machines running smooth.
