Vimal Tea Company

Out here on Manthra Road in Koovappadam, things move a bit slower than they do in the middle of the city. We have our setup at Viii/945, right near the P.O. 180 station. The air around here usually has a bit of a scent to it because of all the tea we handle throughout the day. It’s a bit of an old building, nothing like those glass towers you see nowadays. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when the monsoon hits, but we just move the sacks out of the way and keep going. We have a small group of people working here, most of whom have been with us since we first opened the doors. We spend a lot of time checking samples and making sure the bags are tied up right before they go out. It isn't very quiet, though, because there are always trucks coming and going on the road outside. Our desks are cluttered with invoices and little tins of tea leaves that we need to look at. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything, just the address and the name on the door. People who need us usually know exactly where to find us. Usually, by the time four o’clock rolls around, we are all ready for a break. We just stay focused on the work in front of us and try to get everything sorted before the post office closes for the day.
