Saraf Marbles

We’ve been at B-9 Marble Mandi on Harmera Road for a long time now. If you have ever driven down this way, you know how dusty it gets with all the trucks coming and going all day. Saraf Marbles is basically just a large yard filled with slabs and pieces of stone. It is not a fancy place by any means. My father started this many years ago and we just kept it going. Most days, we are just moving things around with the crane or talking to people who need a few pieces for a small kitchen or a whole lot for a new house. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the afternoon, but we stay busy. We have all sorts of marble piled up in rows. Some of it has been sitting there a while and some just arrived this morning. People usually come by, walk through the stacks, and point at what they like. There is no big sales pitch here. You see what we have, we tell you the price, and that is about it. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to work outside, but we manage. It is a simple life at the mandi. We know the other shop owners around here and we all just try to get through the day. If you need some stone and do not mind getting a bit of dust on your shoes, we are usually around. It is just us and the marble.
