Our place is over in the III Phase of the industrial area in Madanganj. It is a busy part of town, especially with all the marble businesses packed together. We have been operating here for a while, dealing with the daily grind of the stone trade. The yard is usually full of slabs waiting to be loaded. We spend most of our time out there, regardless of whether it is raining or the sun is beating down. Madanganj is famous for this stuff, so there is always someone looking for a load to take back to another state. We handle the paperwork in the small office, but the real work happens outside with the cranes. It is a lot of heavy lifting and making sure things don't chip. Sometimes the power goes out, and everything stops, which is just part of life here. We don't have a big fancy showroom with air conditioning. It is just the yard and the stone. We see a lot of regular faces, drivers who have been coming here for years. They tell us stories about the roads while we wait for the loaders to finish. It is a simple way of making a living, really. You get used to the grit under your fingernails. We just keep doing what we do every day, making sure the orders are ready when the trucks show up. It is not glamorous but it works.
