Akshay Marbles

Akshay Marbles is my place on Harmara Road in Madanganj, Ajmer. We are quite close to the Hanuman Mandir, so you can usually hear the temple bells in the mornings and evenings. It’s a nice part of the road to be on. I started this because I grew up around stone and didn't know much else to do. We keep a variety of marble slabs in the yard. It isn't a high-end gallery; it's a working stone yard. You’ll probably see me in my work clothes with dust on my boots. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy descriptions of our products. The stone speaks for itself when you look at it. We just help you move the slabs around so you can see the patterns clearly. Sometimes the sun is really bright and it’s hard to see, so we splash some water on the marble to show the real shine. We get all kinds of customers, some who know exactly what they want and others who are totally lost. We just try to be helpful without being pushy or annoying. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and long hours, especially when a new shipment arrives. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to provide good stone for local houses.
