Deep Down South Restaurant

Deep Down South is located on Janpath in Bhubaneswar, right near the Marrion and just opposite the Ram Mandir. It’s a very busy stretch of road, so there’s always a lot of noise and movement right outside our front door. We specialize in South Indian food, so the smell of sambar and curry leaves usually fills the air starting early in the morning. I’m usually there by 6 AM to make sure the batter is ready and the kitchen is clean. It’s a small team, and we all pitch in with everything from serving to cleaning tables. It’s not a fancy dining experience with white tablecloths; it’s a place where you come for a quick, hot meal. On festival days near the temple, it gets incredibly crowded, and we’re all running around trying to keep up. Sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky or we run out of a certain chutney by the afternoon, but we do our best. We’ve got regulars who have been coming for years, and we know exactly what they’re going to order before they even sit down. It’s hard work, and the kitchen gets very hot, but it’s what we do. We’re just a basic restaurant on Janpath trying to serve good food to the local crowd.
