Chhadakhai Restaurant

You can find us over at Bapuji Nagar in Bhubaneshwar, specifically inside Hotel Janpath. We are at 29 A, which is quite close to Rajmahal Chowk. If you are familiar with the area, you know how hectic that intersection can be. Our restaurant has been around for a while, and the name "Chhadakhai" refers to a tradition many people here hold dear. We try to keep that spirit alive in what we cook. It’s not a large, echoing dining hall. It’s more of a cozy space where the smells from the kitchen hit you as soon as you walk in. The tables are basic and we don't spend much on decorations. We put our energy into the food instead. Most of the staff have been working here for years, so they know exactly how the regulars like their meals served. Bapuji Nagar is a commercial spot, so we get a lot of office workers during lunch and families in the evening. The noise of the city is always there in the background, but inside it feels a bit more relaxed. We don't have a corporate office or a big board of directors. It’s just us, the cooks, and the servers trying to get the orders right. We focus on the traditional dishes that people grew up eating in their own homes. There are no fancy tricks here, just recipes that have been used for a long time.
