Shara Travels

The office is sitting right there in Prakash Nagar, and it’s usually the first place people come when they need to get somewhere else. We have a lot of calendars and maps pinned to the walls, though most of them are a few years old now. The main desk is always covered in notebooks where we jot down names and dates for trips. It’s a busy place, especially during the wedding season when everyone needs a car or a bus for their relatives. We spend a lot of time talking to drivers and making sure they know where they are going. The phone is almost like another person in the office because it never stops talking. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the long shifts, especially when we have trips leaving in the middle of the night. The chairs in the waiting area are a bit worn out from all the people who have sat there over the years. We hear a lot of stories from travelers about where they are going and why. It’s interesting to see who comes through the door next. Sometimes the traffic outside is so bad that we can’t even hear ourselves think, but we just keep writing down the bookings. It’s a lot of coordinating and hoping the weather stays clear for the long hauls. We just try to keep everything on schedule the best we can. It's just travel and life on the road.
