Lakshmi Transport

Lakshmi Transport is another business operating out of H. No. 3-8-110/A in Guttla Bazar, Khammam. While the others might focus on digging, we are all about moving things. We have a small fleet of trucks that stay busy transporting goods across the urban mandal and further out into the district. The office is a modest space where we keep track of where every truck is and what it's carrying. It’s a lot of juggling schedules and making sure the drivers are okay. We don't have any high-tech tracking systems. It’s mostly just phone calls and checking in with the guys when they get back. The trucks need a lot of care, so we are often looking at engines or checking the tires for wear and tear. It’s a noisy, dusty business, but we like it. We’ve been at this location for a long time, and the local shopkeepers know they can call us when they have a big load to move. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy offices. We just put our name on the side of the trucks and that’s our marketing. Sometimes the roads are bad or there’s a delay at a checkpoint, and we just have to deal with it as it comes. It’s not a perfect system, but we do our best to get the cargo where it needs to go. It’s just a regular transport company run by local people who understand the local terrain.
