Hussain Granites

If you’re driving down the Main Road in Mudigonda, you’ll find Hussain Granites at Sh.No.2-98. We are right near the Niharika Petrol Bunk, so it’s easy to find if you’re looking for it. The dust from the road usually covers everything, so we spend a lot of time splashing water on the granite just to show people the real colors underneath. It’s hot work most of the year. We have a small shed where we keep the paperwork, but most of the action happens outside with the heavy stuff. I started doing this because I liked working with my hands. There is something about the weight of a granite slab that makes you respect the material. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Everything is just laid out in the open. You can see the rough edges and the smooth faces right there. Sometimes the trucks arrive late at night and we have to be there to get everything offloaded so the road stays clear. It’s a bit of a scramble sometimes, but we get it done. People from around the village know us well. They come by when they’re building a new house or fixing up a grave site. We don't push anyone to buy. We just tell them what we have and what it costs. Simple as that. The guys who work here are local and they know how to handle the heavy lifting without complaining too much. It’s just how we do things here.
