Vaibhaav Fabrica

Vaibhaav Fabrica is tucked away at 31-A, Velammal Layout in Kamarajapuram West. It is a residential area that has slowly seen more small businesses like ours popping up over the years. Finding the right layout can be tricky for people who aren't from this side of town, but once you turn into Velammal, it is a straight shot. Our building is a modest one, nothing flashy to look at from the street. Inside, it is a hive of activity most of the time. We have rolls of material and scraps of fabric lying around because that’s the nature of the work. The floor is rarely ever completely clear, no matter how much we sweep. We have a few sewing machines going and the hum of them becomes a constant background noise. It is hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed. We aren't a big corporation with fancy titles; we are just a group of people who know how to handle fabric. Sometimes we run out of thread or a machine breaks down, and we have to scramble to fix it, but that is just part of the daily grind. We like being in Kamarajapuram West because it feels like a real community. You see the same faces every day and we all look out for each other.
