Metro Fabrics

Metro Fabrics is right there on 50 Feet Road in Rama Krishna Puram - North. We’ve got two units, 44 and 46, which helps us keep things somewhat organized. This neighborhood is always moving, and being on this road means we see a lot of traffic. Inside, you'll see mostly rows and rows of fabric. We spend a lot of time measuring out lengths and rolling things back up. It’s simple work, but it takes a lot of standing. The lighting inside isn't the greatest, but we know where everything is. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. Just a desk where we handle the books and a space for the fabrics. Sometimes the dust from the cloth gets everywhere, but that’s part of the trade. We’ve been here long enough that the neighbors know us by name. It’s nice to be part of the community in Rama Krishna Puram. We don't do much advertising. Most people find us because they saw the sign or someone told them we were here. We keep it honest and just try to get the orders right. On rainy days, the road gets a bit muddy, which makes loading the trucks a chore. But we’ve seen all kinds of weather here. We just keep the doors open and get on with it, making sure every customer leaves with what they came for.
