Astraa Fab

We are over at No. 23 A in Kamarajapuram West, right here in Karur. Astraa Fab is our little operation. We have been in this spot for a while now. The neighborhood is a mix of homes and small workshops, so there is always the sound of someone working nearby. Our building is a simple one, nothing too flashy. We have a main room where we do most of the fabric work and a small corner for the accounts. It gets pretty dusty with all the threads and cloth flying around, but that’s just part of the job. Most of our workers live just a few streets away, so it feels very much like a local business. We don't have a big HR department or anything like that; we just talk to each other to get things sorted. Karur is famous for textiles, and being in Kamarajapuram West puts us right in the heart of it. The street can be narrow, so if a big truck comes to pick up an order, it usually blocks the whole way for a few minutes. Nobody really minds, though; it’s just part of daily life here. We take our tea breaks together under the shade of the tree outside when it gets too hot. It is honest work and we just try to keep the orders moving. If you pass by No. 23 A, you’ll probably hear the noise of the machines running.
