Lakshmi Natarajan Vidya Niketan

This school is located at No 43 on Rajaji Street right in Karur. It has been a part of the neighborhood for quite some time now. We have kids coming in every day from the surrounding streets. The building is an older style but it stays cool enough in the summer heat. We have different rooms for the different grades. It is a busy place once eight o'clock hits. You can hear the chatter of students all the way down the block. We don't use fancy gadgets or expensive equipment here. It's mostly blackboards and notebooks. The teachers have been with us for years and they know how to handle the rowdy ones. We keep the gate closed during school hours to keep things safe. Sometimes the street outside gets crowded with cycles and scooters when parents come to pick up their children. Karur is a busy town and Rajaji Street is no different. We just try to provide a steady place for learning without making a big fuss about it. There is a small area for lunch breaks where kids share their tiffins. We see a lot of brothers and sisters coming through the school over the years. It feels like a big family sometimes, even with the occasional scraped knee or lost pencil. We just keep going, year after year, following the same rhythm.
