Vijay Luxmi Rice & General Mills

Our place, Vijay Luxmi Rice & General Mills, is situated in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony. We have been part of this neighborhood for a while now. The mill runs most of the time, so there is always that hum of machinery in the background. It is a local operation. We handle the rice and other general milling tasks that come our way. People from the colony know where we are. We do not go in for big signs or fancy decorations. The walls have some dust on them because that is just how a rice mill is. We spend a lot of time checking the machines and making sure the grain is moving right. It is manual work for the most part. Every morning we start early to get things ready before the sun gets too high. There is not much of a front office, mostly just the milling floor and where we keep the bags. If you walk through Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, you will probably hear us before you see us. We do not have a marketing team or anything like that. Just some people who know how to run the equipment. We take the orders as they come and try to keep up with the demand from the local folks. It is a busy life, but it is steady. We just stick to what we know, which is milling rice and keeping things going for the neighbors who need us for their daily supplies.
